About the Event
Come and enjoy a weekend of nature, fellowship and creativity with us at Pollinators Nomad Meetup at beautiful Horseshoe Lake in Southern IL. What is a pollinator? Just as nature has birds and bees that pollinate the earth with seeds and pollen, we pollinate through art and creativity, gathering small groups of like minded people throughout the country creating a tribe. Our events are experiences that help attendees create, share and grow. We accept everyone; all people are accepted and all types of vehicles from vans and RVs to school busses and coaches. It’s all about the balance of connecting with nature while helping create lifelong friendships.
As you explore Horseshoe Lake, you may be reminded of the Deep South. The charm of bald cypress, tupelo gum, swamp cottonwood trees and wild lotus makes the recreational areas at the site even more enjoyable. Located in Alexander County just east of Illinois Route 3 seven miles north of Cairo and 15 miles from Cape Girardeau, MO, the 10,200 acre area includes a 2,400 acre shallow lake. In addition to taking in the beauty of the natural features of the area, visitors enjoy picnicking, camping, boating, fishing and hunting. Visitors during fall and winter see large populations of waterfowl and bald eagles.
With all the beautiful views and recreational activities at Horseshoe Lake to choose from, you may wish to stay a few days to experience them all. There are 38 Class A camping sites with electricity and showers, 40 Class B/E camping sites with electricity only, and 10 Class C sites available for overnight guests.
